A – Worship services are at 8:45 a.m. and 11:00 a.m.

Q – Do I have to be a member to participate in a ministry?
A – In general, you do not have to be a member to participate. Leaders of ministries who plan and execute activities must be active or Watch Care members participate.

Q – How do I become a member of The Higher Way Church Jones Memorial United Methodist?
A – During a church service or Bible study, you will be invited to walk to the front where someone will meet and walk with you. You may also speak with any pastor to discuss membership.

Q – Does the church allow rental to non-members of church facilities for weddings, funerals and other events?
A – Yes, The Higher Way Church Jones Memorial United Methodist allow space to be rented for varied events. Questions regarding the use of the facilities may be directed to or (713) 733-4630.

Q – What ministries are available for children and youth?
A – We have the following ministries, with all adult volunteers having a criminal background check and certified in Safe Sanctuary training:

  • Kid’s Zone (Ages 0-5 years old)
  • Children’s Church (Age 5-12 years old)
  • Teen Church (Ages 13-18 years old)


Q – If I will reside in Houston for a short time (i.e. due to college, job relocation, etc.), how can I join the church under Watch Care?
A – “Watch Care” allows believers from other congregations to connect. If the Houston area becomes a permanent home, we invite you to join as a regular member of The Higher Way Jones Memorial United Methodist family.
